The 2026 Grass Gauntlet  - Grass Volleyball Tournament!

Get out on the grass this Summer!  We're hosting a Grass Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, August 29th in Bridgewater.  

Coed 4v4, Intermediate+ (not for novice players).  If you are familiar with our sand volleyball league, skill level will be similar.  If we can add additional nets, we will open the tournament up to rec level teams.  This will be posted.

The Grass Gauntlet Tournament Details:

• Team spots are limited - first come, first served!

• 19+ play

• Every team guaranteed a minimum of 5 games - more games if you make it through.  

• $120 +$3.99 processing fee per Team before August 1st

• $130 +$3.99 processing fee per Team on/after August 1st 

• Teams may have 4-6 players.

• Captains register the team and pays the full team fee and then players can register under their team name to get on the roster (won’t get charged)

• No refs/ref fees -- teams will officiate games according to schedule

• Tournament Games will start at 9:20am; registration by 9am

• No Rain Date – team fee will be refunded if we are rained out.

• Refunds: no refunds unless we fill your team spot; refund fees will apply.

• Winners get a Team Trophy 

• FREE AGENTS - if you want to play, but are flying solo, get in touch with us!  Do not register. If a team needs a player or there are enough free agents to form a team (and someone agrees to be captain), we'll set you up.  sara@rallysocialsports.com  

• Teams will wear their own shirts

4 v 4 Coed - Intermediate+

• Intermediate+ Skill Level (not for beginners)

• Co-ed (no reverse coed rules or gender "touch" rules).  Must have at least 1 woman on the team and on the court  

 How We Roll 

• Shoes with spikes are not allowed

• Rally scoring (point per serve)

• Pool Play followed by Playoffs

• Playoffs are single elimination

• Number of teams to advance depends on number of teams in the tournament 

• Tie breakers are point differential followed by total points

• Teams will play and alternate officiating according to the schedule

• Coin flip decides Serve or Side in pool play

• 1 time-out per game

• A served ball may contact the net

• Players cannot contact the net (hair touching the net is not a fault)

• Served ball can't be blocked nor attacked with a downward trajectory

• There's no center line - violation occurs only if player impedes play

• Ball must cross between 2 poles of net system (no antennae)

• Teams switch sides every 7 points

• Players may receive serve with open hands that involve finger action -- we are keeping this less strict.

• Rally indoor and outdoor setting rules - ball can rotate

• Open-hand tips are not allowed

• Officiating team reports scores to tournament organizers

• This is a laid back, fun tournament - Good sportsmanship is expected and appreciated!

• Food (and possibly drinks – will be confirmed) available for purchase on site. 
  
  

FREE AGENTS:  You will be allowed to initially register for free.  If a team needs an additional player, we will put you in contact with the captain and you will handle your portion of the team fee directly with the captain and will be placed on the team.  If we can get enough free agents to form a team, we will bill each of you $32 and ask that one of you volunteer to be captain (as a point of contact for the team).  Teams can be 4-6 players (goal is 5 players for a free agent team).  You are not guaranteed a team spot until you are placed on a team.  Refund policy applies at an individual level, for a free agent team.  All questions can be directed to sara@rallysocialsports.com
