Indoor Pickleball: Dream-breaker League

Join us on Sunday mornings for our Winter Pickleball League! 

Pickleball Dream-Breaker play is slightly different than traditional pickleball play. See below for PDB description. This is a 2v2 game, though we require 4 players on the team (at least 1 must be a woman). **if you only want 2 or 3 players on your team, the team will still be charged for 4 players.

PADDLES (and balls) WILL BE PROVIDED, if you don't have one.

Coed: There must be at least 1 woman on the team, and she must rotate in during regular game play, however, you may be playing vs. “same gender” teams for some match points, as the woman will be rotating in, in a regular rotation.

Pickletball Dream-Breaker League Structure.

• At least 1 woman playing in the game (doesn’t always have to be on the court, but is in rotation for game play).
• All 4 members of your team will play in every game*. If you have 4 present, player 1 and 2 start on the court (3 and 4 wait). There is a switch every 4^th points. Both sides must rotate one player out and the next player in: player 1 out, rotate player 2 into player 1 position and bring in player 3 into player 2 position. After another 4 points same thing…player 2 rotates out, player 3 goes into player 2 position, and player 4 comes in. So on and so forth for every game in the match. This is fast-paced and everyone is engaged.
• Alternating serves on every point.
• Rally Scoring (rather than side-out scoring).
• Individual games to 21 points.
• Must win by 2.
• Best of 3 to a match. All 3 games are played and will count toward standings.
• You may bring your own pickleball racquet or your team may borrow 2 from the facility (you are responsible for it during play).
• *If you only have 3 players in the game, you still rotate. If you only have 2 players present (guy and girl), you do not rotate but still switch hits as normal.

Teams play 1 match - 3 games - each week. Scores and standings are updated online.

You will be asked your skill level at registration for us to better gauge the league level. This is Rec Pickleball league, meant for Beginner – Intermediate Team Levels (around 2.0 - 3.0 skill levels). It’s fine to have higher skilled team players, but the team should also include novice players.

• LBF Pickleball 3 Chimney Rock Rd, Bridgewater, NJ – brand new, beautiful facility!

When we play

• Sundays - Game start times between 10am and 1pm

Season

January 10^th – Feb 21^st. No games on Feb 14^th (President’s Day Weekend).

Each team will play a minimum of 6 matches. Five regular season matches plus one additional (either playoffs or scrimmage). Top 4 teams advance to semi-finals (all others have a scrimmage left). Top 2 teams play in an additional championship match.

Regular/Playoff Structures may vary depending on number of teams, but everyone will play a total of at least 6 matches in the season. One match each week (3 games to a match). We reserve the right to include a double-header or BYE week in the schedule, if necessary, but aim to avoid this.

Registration

Price per player is as follows, based on 4 players per team:

Oct. 8^th – Nov. 10^th: Early Registration Period $95/player plus $3.99 processing fee

Nov 11^th – Dec 21^st: Regular Registration Period $105/p plus $3.99 processing fee.

After Dec 21^st : Late Registration Period $115/p plus $3.99 processing fee.

PRICE PER TEAM: Per Player Registration prices are based on 4 players to a team. If team has fewer than 4 players, the captain will be charged the remaining team fee. We can also provide a free agent to the team, if you’d like (if one is available).

How to register: Captain registers, sets up the team name, and pays his/her own player fee. Teammates then register directly onto the team as a “Team Player” and pays their individual player fee. All players must be registered by January 1^st; if a team has fewer than 4 registered on January 1st, the captain will be charged the remaining team fee, based on the current registration period, and can add a player later (by the 2^nd week of the league).

Free Agents. If you are coming in solo and don’t have a team, please register as a Free Agent. You will not be charged until we find a team for you or create a Free Agent team of 4. Please do not select a team if you have not confirmed with the captain (you may be charged a refund fee if we have to remove you from a team). Once we put you on a team, you will be charged the regular season individual player fee or late fee, depending on when you registered.

Team Registration Deadline is Jan 4^th. After Jan 1^st,  captains must pay the full/remaining team fee,  if the team is not complete.

**while not required, we strongly advise eye protection.  These will not be provided for you, it's BYO if you choose to use them.

League Registration Includes:

Six weeks of play.

A chance to win a donation for your team's charity -- in lieu of a team trophy, the league winners choose a local charity that receives $100.

Rally team shirts.

Paddles will be provided during game play.

Online Schedules, Scores, and Standings with game reminders.

League manager on site.

And a great group of people!
