We're back for the annual SHOP WITH A HERO holiday event! 

Deserving families will receive a $100 gift card to Target -- that's right, the kids go shopping for whatever they want! 

Not only does Santa need helpers to lend a hand (read: volunteers!), Santa also need some Heroes to add to our star lineup:  Police Officers, Doctors, Firemen, Paramedics, Marines, Nurses, etc!

Heroes:  You will go shopping with the kids and tell them about what you do!  

Santa's Helpers Roles include:  shopping with a child and a Hero where you'll help the child along the way and help the Hero keep a tally; help move toys along at the registers; guide families during the event; manage the family registration table, etc!

Heroes: Wear your work uniforms!

Santa's Helper Volunteers who register early will get a shnazzy Santa's Helper t-shirt. Feel free to dress up in your craziest holiday outfit! Can't make it the entire time? No problemo -- we appreciate any time that you can offer.

Who: Can I volunteer? If you're over 18 and not an actual, bonafide, degree-holding grinch, SURE!

When: Friday, December 4th from 4pm - 8pm.

Where: Bridgewater Target in Bridgewater, NJ.

How: Click the red register button to resigner as a volunteer. We'll use this to be able to get in touch with volunteers and to better organize our Heroes and Santa's Helper Army. You'll be able to designate your availability during registration.

Here's a little more info on the event:

SHOP WITH A HERO is a one-day event where local heroes in law enforcement, medicine, military, etc, partner with community volunteers to shop with children from underserved pockets of Somerset County communities.

The Somerset Community Action Program will work with the Somerset County School Districts to select 150 children who qualify. All youth participants must be between the ages of 7-14. Families will be required to complete an online application, confirm income eligibility, and sign our liability waiver. Once accepted and confirmed, families will be instructed on when to show up at their designated time on the day of the event.  Once checked-in, kiddos will be matched, one-by-one, with a HERO who will take them shopping.
